Broadway Stars: Waitress

For 6th - 12th graders

In this mini-musical, students learn rehearsal techniques and vocabulary as they put together a mini-show inspired by the famous movie and contemporary musical, Waitress! Students will sing songs and learn choreography from the show as well as learn about character, stage presence, and acting out an original script.

Improv Troupe

For 4th - 8th graders

Returning students welcome! Beginning improv class required before joining the troupe. Have fun with the exciting world of improvisation by joining our Winter Improv Troupe! Students will continue to learn about thinking fast on their feet, working as an ensemble, creating stories and performing improv in front of others. They will learn to take risks and not be afraid of something flopping. Each week we’ll focus on a different aspect of improvisation to open up a whole new world of acting. A great way to build confidence onstage!

Musical Theater Dance: Intermediate

For 6th - 12th graders

This class will focus on intermediate dance technique that is fundamental for musical theatre. Students will take away tools to increase flexibility and improve core strength, fundamental jazz dance technique, and explore acting through specificity of movement, dancing with strength, and acting/selling a dance number. The last part of class will be spent learning a routine that will help blend good dance technique with the performance aspect of musical theatre dance.

Broadway Your Way

For 6th - 12th graders

In this musical theater class, students learn rehearsal techniques and vocabulary as they put together a mini-show of their own creation. Students will choose songs and dance numbers to learn as they create a musical in collaboration with their instructor. In the process, they'll learn about character, stage presence, as well as singing, dancing, and acting technique.
