Acting 1: Creating Characters

For 3rd - 5th graders
The actor's job is to bring a character to life. Having the tools to build and develop a character are crucial skills for any actor. This class will help students build and create distinct, memorable characters, and apply them to scenes and monologues. This will give them techniques that can be used on any scripted material that they are working with, be it a monologue for an audition, or performing a character on stage.

Intro to Improv

For 3rd - 5th graders
Have fun with the exciting world of improvisation! Beginning and returning students welcome to join our Fall Improv Troupe! Join this Fall or for the whole year! Students will learn about thinking fast on their feet, working as an ensemble, creating stories and performing improv in front of others. They will learn to take risks and not be afraid of something flopping. Each week we’ll focus on a different aspect of improvisation to open up a whole new world of acting. A great way to build confidence onstage!

Improv Troupe

For 4th - 8th graders
Returning students welcome! Beginning improv class required before joining the troupe. Have fun with the exciting world of improvisation by joining our Winter Improv Troupe! Students will continue to learn about thinking fast on their feet, working as an ensemble, creating stories and performing improv in front of others. They will learn to take risks and not be afraid of something flopping. Each week we’ll focus on a different aspect of improvisation to open up a whole new world of acting. Voice: Kidz Bop!

For K - 2nd graders
If your student loves singing along with the radio or Kidz Bop, this is the class for them! Singing skills are essential to young performers interested in musical theater. In this beginning voice class, we'll learn voice technique as we explore todays greatest hits! Then we'll learn acting and dance techniques to add to the music to create an amazing mini-concert for you at the end of the session.

Voice: Duets

For 3rd - 5th graders
Singing skills are essential to young performers interested in musical theater. Geared for students who want to study voice but are not ready to commit to private singing lessons, this small class is perfect for the aspiring performer. Students will study musical terms and singing techniques and explore their voices through the hit Broadway Musical Beauty and the Beast. At the end of the session students will confidently sing a collection of songs from Beauty and the beast including group numbers and solos where they will show off what they’ve learned!
