Voice: Disney Songs

This class is for K-2nd Graders

Singing skills are essential to young performers interested in musical theater. In this beginning voice class, we'll learn voice technique as we explore songs of Disney! Then we'll learn acting and dance techniques to add to the music to create an amazing mini-concert for you at the end of the session.

Unarmed Fighting: Theory & Practice

This class is for students age 15+

Maybe you've played a role that required some onstage fighting. Maybe you've taken an intro stage combat class before. This class is not either of those situations. Instead, we'll combine discussions and workshops to get into the weeds of why our techniques work, and how we can use these techniques to tell a great story. Topics include: how to die onstage, sightlines in different orientations, physical character beats, and more. Athletic clothes & sneakers required. Growth mindset recommended.

Drama & Dance

For Ages 5-10

Drama and Dance have so much in common even though they are often seen as different art forms. Learn how to apply drama skills to dance and then apply dance skills to drama in this class where we’ll learn all about movement! From dance routines to character walks, we’ll learn how to engage our bodies onstage in this interactive dance and drama class.

This class is for 6th-12th Graders

In this beginning level tap dance class students will learn the basics of tap performance for musical theater. The class aims to give students confidence and begin to develop their technique. We'll focus on skill building and learning a few musical theater routines. On the final day of class we'll share our skills with family and friends in a final presentation.

Voice: Musical Revue

This class is for 3rd-5th Graders

Singing skills are essential to young performers interested in musical theater. Designed for students who want to study voice but are not ready to commit to private singing lessons, this small class is perfect for the aspiring performer. Students will choose a musical, such as "The Wizard of Oz", "Encanto", or "Cats", and prepare a musical performance of songs from this show. At the end of the session students will confidently sing for families and show off solo, duet, and ensemble vocal work!

Cabaret Series: Epic Eighties

For students age 10-19

Put together a cabaret of songs in the genre of “Epic Eighties” in collaboration with a Studio East teaching artist and the Creative Team behind our next Mainstage show, Les Misérables. Students will choose songs from popular eighties musicals including Little Shop of Horrors, La Cage aux Folles, Miss Saigon, Chess, Phantom of the Opera and more! Each student will work with their instructors and classmates to create a show that features every student. They’ll hone their acting, singing, and dancing skills as they work together to create a show to be performed on the Les Misérables set.

This class will be 6:30pm - 8:30pm on the final two classes, June 4th & 5th. The final performance will be on Wednesday, June 5th at 7:30pm.

Payment plan available: $5 deposit plus 2 payments of $106.66, paid every four weeks. Final payment of $106.68.

Broadway Boot Camp

For students entering 6th - 12th grade this upcoming Fall

Become a triple threat in just a week in this camp dedicated to honing your musical theater skills! We'll explore Broadway classics as well as contemporary musical theater hits while strengthening our singing, dancing, and acting skills as well as having a lot of fun. Then we’ll select a few pieces to perform on the final day of camp.

Skills Camp: Each Skills Camp at Studio East features different classes. Spend a week taking a deep dive into a specific performing arts skill that range from camera work, to onstage skills, to backstage options. At the end of the week, show off your knowledge with an informal performance, fully-edited video, or portfolio of work.
